Today, I went to the beach front with my kids.
I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4 year old
daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely

I absolutely agree with the “I made it, why can’t you?” statement. I started out with nothing, except for a good upbringing from two parents (a mother and a father). I used the GI bill to go to a trade school, then joined a company and worked my way up from the ground floor to management. I own my my own home, free and clear, that I built with my own hands. I have provided health insurance and retirement for my family. I am debt free. A goal of mine is to be a man of maximum practical application and I don’t like to rely on anyone else to do things for me. I am no genius, but I am a hard worker with common sense. I feel that I am an unremarkable person, so if I can do it, then almost anyone can.

I’m glad to see a lot more progressives picking up these straightforward arguments and simple facts. For a long time I felt like a voice crying in the wilderness. Yup, the job creators are ordinary folks with money in their pockets.

You can actually take this analysis back further. For example, the boom of the late 1860s and early 1870s was spurred by the high taxes and high government spending in the Civil War. (Studebaker was just one of many long lived companies that got their start supplying the Union army.) The war taxes of 1917 and on drove the Roaring 20s. Sure, there was a lot of innovation going on, but someone needed an excuse to raise wages. In fact, it was the 2-3 order of magnitude increase in manufacturing productivity combined with relatively flat wages that led to teh Great Depression.

You left out the part where high taxes on the rich mean they have less money to spend buying government and generally bribing it into doing things that hurt job growth.

Only one 60-hr-wk job? I’ll bet they were even in their 20s and early 30s when they did it too.

My 40s – 60+ hr/wk contract day job and 15 hr weekend job
My 50s – finally able to purchase cheap car, now only work 40 hr wks (for 3/5 of prev pay) plus new part-time job that runs all night Mon-Thurs weekly
Also, am currently into my early 60s
Anticipate continuing to work both jobs until 68.
I’m university educated in communications with honors, although non- or under-employed honors university grads are so obvious I apologize for even mentioning it.

So,60-hr weeks in their 20s. I’ll bet the spoiled little weenies even had cars. Sounds like a party-time slide for lazy himbos to me.
